List description

Peak Oil refers to that moment in time when the world achieves its maximum possible oil production. From then on, the amount of petroleum available to the world will begin to decline. The consequences to the social order are likely to be severe, since everything in our society depends on a cheap energy supply. There is nothing to take its place, and since no widespread planning has been done, there is likely to be social upheaval on an unprecedented scale. While there has been some dispute about when exactly Peak Oil would occur, the International Energy Agency just released a report stating that the peak occurred four years ago. So fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride! Here are some books to educate you on the problem and to help you navigate the new world order.
