1

Frommer''s England 2011
Porter, Darwin; Prince, Danforth
"England is not the kind of place that you visit for the lovely sunny climate, so you may as well go in winter! All the best sales in London happen post-Christmas anyway. Like the title says, this guide has been completely updated for the new year. It's focus is very broad; from the beautiful countryside of Wales to the hustle and bustle of London, Frommer's covers it all. Great if you want to experience the entire country and all its different aspects. This is definitely the most comprehensive guide on England and Wales."

2

Top 10 Buenos Aires
Mcgarvey, Declan
"Buenos Aires is another perfect destination for getting away from the winter cold. Argentina's summer lasts from December to April, and it gets nice and sunny during these months. This Eyewitness guide to Buenos Aires is a handy little, pocketsized book, with all the essential information you need for a succesful trip to the city. The maps are especially useful. Much of the info is in top 10 lists, which makes finding info on all sorts of topics quick and easy. The must-see spots listed are not all the obvious tourist ones either; there are some local hidden gems in this guide too. Perfect for an authentic Buenos Aires experience!"

3

Frommer''s France 2011
Porter, Darwin; Prince, Danforth
"Good food is essential for a holiday, and for the real foodie, France is the dream destination. But even if you're looking more for a cultural than a culinary getaway, France is ideal. This Frommer's guide is very user friendly and up-to-date. It provides a lot of information, on everything from food to film and all the must-sees in the country. The enthusiasm in the writing is infectious; you'll be having a lot of fun just reading this guide! Frommer's also offers some pretty specialized information for lots of different trips, from family vacations to active vacations and driving tours."

4

Frommer''s Egypt
Hebeishy, Mohamed El
"If you want to get out of the cold, a trip to Egypt may serve your needs perfectly. Winter temperatures are mild (although it can be wet!). This travel guide gives very exact information and is easy to read. There aren't a lot of pictures, but that just means more room for useful info! It's especially good if you want to book your own hotel, Frommer's has a lot of helpful tips for that."

5

Eat Pray Love 10Th-Anniversary Edition
Gilbert, Elizabeth
"Finally, a somewhat different book. Eat, Pray Love is not a travel guide, but travel plays a big role in it. The author, Elizabeth Gilbert, visited Italy, India and Indonesia, and after reading her memoir, you will be definitely be aching to visit these places too. Her descriptions of Italy (its people, its streets and especially its food) are especially amazing; I felt myself salivating while reading it sometimes!"
